Results from the 2005 Event

This is part of the letter that went out to everyone who helped with our event in 2005. Thank you again ALL of you for all your help with this event. $13,525.33 WOW!!! You did it! With your help, I am proud to inform you that we far exceeded our goal of raising $10,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. In fact, you helped to raise over $13,525.00 for this very important cause. From the bottom of our hearts we thank each and every one of you! From our local grocery stores to nationwide scrapbooking companies, from the local dairy to individual scrapbookers, from online groups to local community groups and from our family members and friends, your collaboration and generosity was incredible. It just goes to show you how we can all make a difference when we work together! The crop day was incredible, and many commented on how heartwarming, fun and uplifting it was. The logo on the back of our tee shirts said it all: “Eat. Drink. Crop. Save Lives”, which was exactly what we did. 115 scrappers and 9 vendors participated in our full day event and fun was had by all. We honestly couldn’t have done this without all of you. Your support and generosity mean the world to us. You have truly made a difference in the fight against breast cancer. The Third Annual Crop for the Cure has been scheduled for Saturday, September 9th, 2006 and registration is now open. After the first of the year, information fliers will be distributed and we hope we can count on you for your continued support as we look ahead to next year’s event. Because next year marks the 15th anniversary of the Des Moines Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, we have set our goal at $15,000 – one thousand dollars for each year that chapter has been in existence.
